I founded Etch after reflecting for months on the advantages I had that allowed me to matriculate into medical school and considering which of advantage could activate the biggest lever in making medical school admissions more equitable. Being introduced to Spaced Repetition Learning (SRL) helped me to score well on the MCAT and perform well in classes without having to pay for expensive review courses. I realized that SRL was backed extensively by research, but that it wasn't being implemented in the education system in a scalable manner. As I dug deeper, I realized that the long-term learning infrastructure of the entire education system needed to be strengthened.
